2nd Takt Planning Workshop (P2SL) - Sold Out

We are delighted to offer for the 2nd time in the United States, a two-day workshop on Takt Planning (TP) in cooperation with P2SL and our German partners Drees&Sommer. This workshop offers an opportunity to learn what takt planning is, what its theoretical underpinnings are, different methods for TP, and how to apply TP in practice.

TP is a production planning technique that improves workflow reliability at the Phase Plan level when implementing the Last Planner® System (LPS). TP reduces variability by setting a predictable production rate for standard activities across right-sized geographic work areas. This disciplined production planning approach aligns not only the workflow at the site, but also the overall flow of materials and information through the supply chain starting in design and moving into detailing, fabrication and delivery processes required to support the execution of the Takt sequences.

Day 1 – Introduction to Takt Planning

Day 1 offers hands on experience through a simulation game designed specifically to teach the concepts of TP and demonstrate how those concepts can be used to optimize workflow. Additionally, it will introduce various techniques for managing the Takt Plans including purpose built tools like vPlanner and integrating the results into the overall Last Planner® System implementation.

Note: Attendees of the September workshop need only sign up for Day 2.  New attendees can either sign up for Day 1 or Day 1 AND Day 2 together.

Day 2 – Applying Takt Planning on a Project

Day 2 offers hands on experience in applying Takt Planning on an actual project.  Through group exercises, the participants will learn how to define project phases, identify takt areas, identify standard activities, set the takt time, and create a takted plan.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the basic concepts of TTP.
  • Learn how to create Takt Plans and optimize flow.
  • Understand how TTP can be implemented within the larger context of the LPS.
  • Gain an understanding of when to best apply Takt Planning
